MANILA, Philippines – Stress could cause homosexuality in both humans and animals, claims an expert on carabaos.
In his lecture on the first day of the National Biotechnology Week (NBW) celebration held at the Mall of Asia in Pasay, Dr. Libertado Cruz, executive director of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) claimed that stress could cause homosexuality in humans, much like it happens with carabaos and other animals.
Cruz was lecturing about the technologies that have to do with carabao sex, when he discussed the impact of stress on human and animal sexual behavior.
“One of the causes of psycho-social sex differentiation is stress,” he said.
Cruz said if stress could cause homosexuality in animals, it could do the same in humans.
“There is a critical period of brain development where brain circuitry changes, and there are neurotransmitters in the brain that regulates the circuitry,” he said.
“So pag-na-stress yung tao, yung neurotransmitter na sorotonym, tumaas and that causes the differentiation of neuro-connectivity in the brain,” he said.
He noted that male and female brains differ in their circuitries.
“There is what we call female brain and the male brain, and their circuitry is different. So the sexual differentiation of the brain is related to that,” Cruz said.
He explained that brains are comprised of electric circuitries, which “determined by the kind of neuro-transmitters to which the brain is exposed during critical development.”
“In rats, in day 10, 12, 13, pag na-stress mo yung ganon, you can see the differentiation of the brain development. That’s how it translates to humans,” Cruz said.
… go to a bar or a club, I love techno/house music but never been even visited a place where I can dance all the night away
… drink like there’s no tomorrow wherein I drank so hard I’m puking and doesn’t even remember what is happening or what had happened when I was drunk.
I have no friends to do this (some few friends I had are absolutely non-drinkers and doesn’t to go to that kind of places) with so I guess it’ll stay as a dream…
